With the release of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx on the 29th April, we have a great oppurtunity to promote the latest version of Ubuntu at a high profile Linux event. What I propose is an Ubuntu 10.04 install fest / area where users can upgrade / install ubuntu on their pc?
This can take the form of
What would we need?
Connected with Mr Pounder's promotion of Ubuntu - how about building a keysigning element into unbuntu? There is an opportunity to build links between developers and people contributing to the Ubuntu project.
From the installation of Ubuntu - at the install fest suggested by Mr Pounder, the users can generate GPG keys, and (assuming they have relevant supporting ID documentation) have other people sign their keys. This has the advantage that the requirements for a Keysigning event are greatly reduced from a main event - I would even suggest that this might be something more applicable to a post Saturday drinks and keysigning session - perhaps at a local hostalry - with the added advantage that those of us unravaged by the pressueres of supporting windows - ie - those of us that look younger than we actually are would reuqire ID for refreshment purposes anyway.
There's a document at http://linuxreviews.org/howtos/gnupg/signingparty which might help us - or better yet - the community. I've never held or been involved in a keysigning party - but the requirements seem to be somewhat minimal… For me - it would be so cool to meet up with members of the Outlaw / UUPC community and obtain their autograph (in a keysigning electronic sense of course).
UPDATE : have just located the parties section - James Tait has already suggested this as a Parties event.

For quite some time I had the idea to create a mobile app for Linux Outlaws that would act as a podcatcher and enable people to interact with the show. Now, since I suck at programming myself, I recently got the brainwave to farm that out to the community. I can provide vision and graphic design help and Dan might also get involved with the coding. We have decided to make this app for all Sixgun Productions shows (possibly also Rathole Radio in the future) and call it Pony Express. So if you are interested in helping us code this, come along to the Pony Express BoF at OggCamp 10! We are initially looking at implementing this for Android (possibly using Appcelerator's Titanium framework – that's open to discussion), but other platforms like iPhone or a native Linux app (maybe optimised for MeeGo) are possible too.
What we can provide: vision, design guidelines, ideas and infrastructure (like a wiki, mailing list, Gitorious repo etc.)
What we need: Developers familiar with Android app development or people who want to learn it
Please indicate if you are interested in coming along for the BoF:

These cheap little computers are starting to be fairly ubiquitous now, and we are thinking of putting together an event that will allow us to show, compare and discuss what we have done with our EeePCs and our Jogglers.
This could be a talk, but I prefer the idea of a workshop or an exhibition since no one is really an expert and a discussion would be more useful.
Some of us collect old CDs from versions of Ubuntu (and other software) from the past. People could bring along some of the previous releases and swap with others to build up their collection.
We could have a “game-off”, entailing championships of various games (OSS of course!). We could compete with each other on e.g. Sauerbraten, Frozen-Bubble, OpenArena… @dandart
Have you ever wanted to contribute to the FLOSS community, but not known how? Do you have the ability to make sounds? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, you're in luck!
There are many challenges that face people developing FLOSS games, including a lack of available voice actors and sound effects. If you're attending OggCamp, visit Windigo and record a couple of lines for one or both of the NAEV or jClassicRPG.

It has been suggested on maemo.org (but didn't see anywhere else here) to have an N900 meetup. I think its better to open it up a bit more to mobile Linux, so Maemo/Android/other users, developers could BoF together.
