If you have a video recorder, bring it to Oggcamp, I would love to see video of the talks. If you have a tripod, bring it to Oggcamp and let someone with a video recorder borrow it, I would love to see stable video of the talks.
If you decide to record video, set up the recorder close enough to the speaker that they are the auditory focus of the recording, but not in the way of other viewers.
If you are a speaker and you are being recorded, could you please repeat the questions that you are asked before answering the questions. The recording device will probably not pick up the person asking the question.

I plan to bring a camcorder and tripod, and hopefully record a few talks. I hope there is an understanding that talkers are OK with being recorded. ~yamatt
Can I also add - if you are a speaker, can you make your slide sets (if any ) available under an open licence. The Community could then do some nice editing where we switch between the speaker and the slides available - It would be cool to make these available (video, slides and 'prettied up version' available under a similarly open licence.
There may well be a fair amount of work to do in terms of this - I would suggest forming a Post even art team to accomplish this. Perhaps Jezra could put his skills toward perhaps creating some templates for slides - or templates for finished videos? Do we also need a video / media team to coordinate the video taping of the talks? computa_mike.
I was planning on taking a couple of cameras with me so should be able to get some talks recorded. ~ormiret
Richard Eaton I should be there with a video camera and with luck a tripod as well, to try and record some talks.
I'll be there on the Saturday and will shoot stills throughout the day ~gmb
Andrew Manson I'm the founder of talkoss.com and I'm bringing a 3 man professional recording team with me for both days of the (un)conference. We're planning to have two men with HD video cameras and one man on dedicated sound which can be spliced into the video in post-production. I would really quite like to get a lot of discussion on this topic and see how people would feel about a professional company recording this event. In the interest of full disclosure I would like to point out that we are looking for independent sponsorship to fund this venture and will be working on an advertising model for the website very similar to the ads that you see on TED.com i.e. in the video stream. TED.com will be the model that we will be working off for this and other conferences around the world and we will continue to record and promote Open Source conferences as long we can afford to. Please send us some feedback on our twitter or Identi.ca accounts or email us at feedback @at@ talkoss .dot. com
The TalkOSS people will only be recording one stage of the three - it would be great if those who have volunteered to bring video kit along were still able to do so to record the other stages! – Tony
